Stick a fork in Dodd
He is done. Unfortunately.

He was not doing well in the Quinnipiac polls due to the Countrywide Mortgage issue. Rob Simmons declared his intentions to challenge Dodd.

Now the "Dodd Amendment" to the stimulus package.

I was hoping we would have Blumenthal unseat Lieberman. Now we may need another good, strong candidate to replace Dodd.

1. I really hope he announces he will not seek re-election
so we can have somebody step up and be able to run a full campaign against Simmons or Shays.

Chris Murphy, John Larson, Rosa DeLauro, Susan Bysiewicz and Dick Blumenthal are all capable of winning against any Republican outside of Jodi Rell in a statewide race.

5. Yes, Rosa for the Senate would be great.
She is well loved and respected.

2. On Jon Stewart's show last night Dodd was referred to as a gay lover of Lieberman
In the AIG scandal, Dodd was screwed by Geithner and Summers. Dodd did have an amendment to restrict these bonuses but it was Geithner and Summers who wanted it removed. I hold Geithner and Summers more responsible than Dodd in this debacle. Both Geithner and Summers follow the discredited Rubinomics free trade philosophy and they are both more concerned with protecting Wall Street than Main Street. Geithner and Summers need to be fired.

3. I agree that it's likely not Dodd's fault
However, with Countrywide, the Irish cottage, his moving his family to Iowa and this, I think it's time for him to at least announce he will not be seeking re-election.

4. I agree. I really like Dodd a lot
so I'm not happy about this turn of events.
