Poll question: How many Connecticut folks here?
I live outside NYC and wondered how many folks there are on DU from Connecticut and what parts.

I do some work in Connecticut occasionally in the arts and wanted to find out what kind of numbers Connecticut has here.

Please feel free to introduce yourself and what you are about after you vote.

I am an artist/researcher/activist and am involved in music, theater, and journalism.

Sometimes there are events I would like to hip you all to and maybe hang out.

6. Killingly here
I'm the secretary of Killingly's Democratic Town Committee and its web master. I just published the brand new Killingly DTC web site yesterday. You can view it at http://www.ctdems.org/Killingly/ .

I've been a software engineer for about 25 years. Last November, I was laid of from my job. I had been with the company for almost 13 years, but as we all have come to experience, we are all expendable to the corporate Pharaohs. But about 3 weeks ago, the end users of the environment I managed, asked me if I could come back because the data in the environment was screwed up. I agreed and will be returning as a contractor on a 3 month contract to start. Hope I can get my old job back, but we'll see.

Politically, I lean left of center. See myself as a Progress-Liberal.

8. I live in New Haven. Been here since 1985.
I worked for several nonprofit organizations, including Planned Parenthood of CT (raising money). Hubby is on our Ward committee.

If you are in the arts, New Haven is the CT city for you! Come here for theatre and to see our wonderful architecture! We have so many cultural offerings and fine restaurants it is wonderful! I love living here...

28. Sounds like where I'm from.
I've spent most of my life just west of Hartford in the Farmington Valley area.

We probably know the same towns, maybe even neighborhoods.

This forum barely squeaks, although I guess I am myself part of the blame.

Living here is like going off the map ..and this is the East coast.

20. I live in Terryville. Its right next to Bristol. Beginning of Litchfield County.
I love it here...I used to live in Cheshire and well, its a wealthy town but a bit snobby. Everyone is down to earth and nice here and my kids like the schools in Terryville.

25. There have been a few meetups
but, I had to cancel on the last one because my daughter was sick. That was 4-5 years ago, though. The only time I actually met DUers was last summer when I went to NYC for a meetup... and the first DUer I met there was CaliforniaPeggy

27. Born & raised in Hartford County.
Moved out to Arizona for college, and I'm moving back to CT in a week.

I'm also involved in music and theater, and my degree was in Political Science.

My family and I have always been pretty active in politics, so as soon as I move back I'm going to work on campaigns and try to make a difference.
