Husband's Death Faked By Police

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- A Boynton Beach newlywed has been arrested for allegedly hiring an undercover police officer to kill her husband of six months.

Police said 26-year-old Dalia Dippolito gave an informant $1,200 for a handgun and offered $3,000 for the murder of her husband, 38-year-old Michael Dippolito. She even suggested getting her hair done when the crime was committed for an alibi.

Investigators played along on Wednesday. They called the would-be widow at the gym and covered her home in crime scene tape. Dalia Dippolito immediately broke down in tears when a sergeant told her her husband had died.

It wasn't until officers got Dalia Dippolito to the station that she learned her husband was alive and in the next room.

3. The Lifetime movie would of course have to reverse the roles though
...in keeping with their usual Man=Bad/Woman=Victim motif.

10. I hate Lifetime
The only time our TV connects with Lifetime is when my 'I am a victim' cousins pops in for a visit. :D

11. Watched a show on there not long ago
Was not feeling well, channel surfing, and looked like a decent movie (ghostly). Loving husband, ghosts, etc and so on. Then, all of the sudden, he was the bad guy, plotted it all out to make her go nuts and kill herself so he could his hands on her money (He killed her sister then faked her coming back to haunt her, etc).

I was down with the ghost part of it, and then bam - bad guy husband :)

17. They may be waiting...
...for a possible revelation of domestic abuse. Without understanding the motive, it's hard for me to work up much sympathy--but neither am I ready to write off the perp completely.

If mental illness is involved, if the husband was hurting/threatening her, or if the charge is somehow bogus, I could probably sympathize. It's early days yet.
