In case you don't remember Daryl, here is a pic. Not me in it, behind the camera. I guess he figured the time is not right for his own run again yet. I remember he did so well in the Jeb/McBride/Daryl debates.

2. Jones Rocked!

My husband and I voted for him in the 2002 Primary. Reno seemed frail (and I figured the Elian thing would haunt her). McBride came across as a dork & made you wish his wife was running (and now she is - Alex Sink for CFO!)

But Daryl Jones was awesome - articulate, smart, funny (leadership as opposed to leader-sheep - LOL!)

My parents insisted the baby boomers who grew up with separate water fountains and bathrooms would never elect a black man as governor - even if Jones shows all those negative stereotypes many bigots have about African-Americans are just bunk.

3. He was great at the meeting.

A funny thing. Someone saw Joe Redner from Tampa, the controversial guy with the strip clubs. He was talking to him in the corridor. Said Redner told him he was speaking in the Church without Walls and got an ovation. But he did not elaborate...wish he had. That was an interesting comment. He did not feel comfortable going into the meeting though, and he left.
