Just out of curiousity - can we get a State Roll Call for the DC protest

Basically - if you're coming to DC whether for the DU gathering or just a bus trip from your hometown - check in here and post in your sig-line what state you're coming from. I'm getting folks coming from as far as Alaska to the protest and all over this country. I'd like to see just how many states will be represented by DUers on Sept 24th.

We have ordered special shirts and will be wearing them. Unfortunately we only ordered 160 shirts and we now think about 200 plus will be coming. Probably more because a couple of guys from New College have done a FANTASTIC job of organization. My friend and I aren't going on the 2 buses but will be flying in on Friday into BWI around 5:30PM. So 2 busses of 55 plus we have quite a few flying in, could be we have around 300!

Our shirts will be Bright Orange with Bright Green Peace Signs on the front and back, around the sign will say Florida For Peace! We will be congregating together before the march. There are about 4 other groups coming from Florida that I know of. Gainesville, Orlando, St. Pete and I guess Miami now.

I hope we arrive in time to attend pre-protest party. If we don't how will I know you guys? There will be so many people at the Washington monument. I envision standing there and screaming "Bleachers7, Bleachers7, Progmom, LynneSin are you here?" People will think I'm crazy or just very annoying! I know, I'll just start a chant of DU, DU, DU. Of course if EVERYONE joins in I'll be back where I started! We could all wear red carnations? :-)

Wow, can't believe I'm the first Virginian to post here. But anyway...Me and some friends are driving up for the day and then driving back. It's about 3.5-4 hours from here so it's not too bad for a day trip. I doudt we are doing the march I think we are going to the rally and speeches then just hang around the mall area until the concert starts and stick around for most of that.

It's a couple of my friends first big protest deal and they are excited about it. I would like to hook up with some fellow DUers before the march so I'll check the details thread later. I still have fond memories of hooking up with DUers at the Jan. 2003 rally. Would have hooked up with some more DUers at the March 2003 rally but the Metro screwed me by closing a station 6 blocks from the mall for repairs without announcing anything beforehand so I missed the rendevous time by about 10 minutes.

I can't wait. God we have to get rid of those bastards ruining this country.
