Positive Thoughts/Prayer Request for those at NIU and U of I

It was discovered the gunman who killed 7 people, including himself, was a current student at U of I in Champaign-Urbana. His family must be devastated.

I'm wondering why Obama has stayed mum on this tragedy. Northern Illinois could use a few kind words of hope from him.

I have two parishioners doing doctoral work at NIU, and a LOT of parishioners who are alums (we're an hour straight south of Dekalb). The whole NIU community is in our prayers.

Thoughts and prayers to all the NIU students, friends and family. I don't happen to know anyone at NIU but this hits close to home, nevertheless... especially with the realization that it could just have easily been my own campus.

I think all involved and the surrounding community will need as many prayers as we can send. As far as we know, no one we know was directly involved. One of my son's friends was supposed to be there but was off subbing for another student in their jazz band. How overwhelmingly terrible that this would happen to those kids.
