oberweis
so, i wish to stick to my principles, and not frequent the oberweis stores that seem to be closing in on me. but i had to wonder today just how many of the original family members are still involved in the dairy, just how much the nazi owns, and whether there might be some redeeming value to the family.
yes, i am reaching. it just doesn't seem fair that i could indulge my childhood memories, without actually visiting my home town, and one idiot's political dreams are mucking it up. please tell me there are some democrats in the family examining the fine print in the will.

1. There Are Plenty Of Places To Buy Ice Cream, Mo
He's still involved in the biz. I'd stay away from those places.

2. that's the wrong answer!
don't you know how rationalization works!!
seriously, tho, it was one of the really bright spots in my childhood to trek up to the oberweis store and cough up the big bucks for a hot fudge sundae. dairy queen was closer and much cheaper. we got our milk delivered from oberweis for a long time, too. had a really nice milkman, curiously named mr. hershey.
every time i drive by one of those stores it is a little stab in the heart. oh well, i don't really need a hot fudge sundae, anyway.

4. oh, i do
there are a couple of great little places around here. there is one that is a little chain of wisconsin dairy farms that have a nutrition label that says something like- hey, it's ice cream. it's premium ice cream. if you are looking for a nutrition label, you are in the wrong place!
i try to only frequent this place after i have had a nice long walk or bike ride so that it is "fat neutral".
i never have been all that good at letting go, tho.

5. Ah, they have one near me and I find the icecream overrated
Too much sugar (which for me is really something to say) and I am not fond of the texture. I find Breyer's to beat most brands, quite honestly.
