I can't provide a link for you, but I have the reference books with the historical county level data.

1. Same in McHenry County
Here, voters have chosen Republicans for president since before the Civil War. Tuesday, they went for Obama.

http://nwherald.com/articles/2008/11/06/news/local/doc491272a3e5ded248008362.txt

"McHenry County voters Tuesday offered a mixed bag for the history books.

"On one hand, the county known for 150 years as a Republican stronghold favored Democratic candidate Barack Obama for president. That hasn't happened since the Republican Party first fielded a presidential candidate in 1856, according to McHenry County Historical Society Museum Administrator Nancy Fike.

"But those same voters Tuesday filled 10 of 12 McHenry County Board seats and all contested countywide races with Republicans, and favored the GOP in all three contested General Assembly races."

2. Boone County
Our County Democratic party plain stinks. Obama, with all his perceived baggage, still carried Boone. Our party leaders operate in a draconian like pre-Internet age and completely failed the local candidates. I'm seriously considering starting a "rouge" faction of the county democratic party, and challenging the current, stagnant party during primary season. Anyone have any thoughts about going this route???

3. In what way did they fail the local candidates?
Can you be specific?

In what way will you challenge them during primary season? How will you go about it?

P.S.: I think you mean "rogue." Or do you plan on giving them all makeovers with generous applications of red cheek color?
