Ok, I know this is REALLY early, but ...

No better place to start than at the beginning, no better time to start than now.

1. Thanks - I'm investigating further and...
like what I'm reading so far. My favorite quote:
...Political watchers such as University of Virginia professor Larry Sabato point out that while Feingold's recent stands on civil liberties and the Iraq war may please liberal activists, they may well hurt his chances later on with moderate Democrats and conservatives. The senator had a blunt answer...
"I don't care," he said. "Whatever political considerations I have are absolutely irrelevant to the decisions I make having to do with people's civil liberties and something as weighty as Americans risking their lives overseas. The day that I start think politically about those things is the day I should leave politics."
Hippiechick, do you think that he's Dean's heir-apparent (assuming that Dean won't run in 2008)?

3. Feingold is not Dean
Dean was a centrist that had the courage to speak up against the war in Iraq and the Vichy Democrats at a time when everyone was bowing down to Bush.

Feingold is a maverick. Russ voted against PATRIOT and IWR, but he also voted to confirm Ashcroft and Roberts, and he was the first Senate Democrat to announce a filibuster against PATRIOT extension and his opposition to Alito's nomination. Like all mavericks, we will agree with him sometime, and we will disagree with him other times, but we will always know that whatever Russ does or fails to do, it was not due to some crass political calculation.

5. I agree with IG, for the most part ...
... Russ marches to his own drummer and blazes a path where other Dems will wait to test the wind before they decide to follow.

But I definitely think Russ can galvanize the grassroots the way Dean did, if that's where you were going, SpeedwayDem ...

4. I read that statement on another thread
Read the whole interview. I was very impressed. I don't know that much about him now, but intend to learn more. A cheesehead president. Too much to hope for?

6. It's past time for a Midwesterner in the White House ...

... some good ole' Wisconsin progressivism and common sense, as opposed to the sorta-southern Moron and his animatronic Cowboy VP who have RUINED the country over the past 5 years.

And as much as I loved the Big Dawg, I just don't want to see another Bubba in the WH for awhile.

:hi: Oh, re: your email ~ Myspace got stale. Nobody was reading my stuff. In case you hadn't noticed, I have a REAL short attention span.

7. I was reading it
I really liked that last one. I truly was a #7 fan back then. That was on a par with losing Jimi, Janis, Jerry & John to me. I never watch anymore, but was really into it at that time. That was a really good post. Have you talked to Leslie? He added me as a friend but never has done anything with his site. We really need to have another meetup, hopefully more than Oubache & I will show up.

8. Calling Voltaire ....
.... I think the reason he joined Myspace was to read my musings, moreso than to write his own. But he can answer that forsure.

I'm glad you liked my blog -- but it got to be alot of work with next to no feedback.

9. I gave you a little feedback
I was a subscriber. I read them all, although I didn't respond to many. You did see I was responding to some I hope? What's this Yahoo site for Feingold? I haven't even checked it out yet.

10. Yea, I did ...
... but you were pretty much the only one who did give me feedback.

I was surfing around Russ-related sites a couple weeks ago and found a Russ For President site, (several actually, but I liked this one best) which had offlinks to state message boards.

http://www.russforpresident.com/

The Indy Yahoo group only has about 6 people so far - 2 of whom aren't in Indiana - and not alot of traffic yet. It would be a great place to grow and organize, very similar to what Kheph, IndianaGreen and I did with the Hoosiers for Dean group in 2003.

11. I just joined
It's funny at my My Space account now. Says I have 6 friends but only 5 are showing. There's a blank space where your photo used to be.

2. Why not?
Is the country ready for a cheesehead President? I hate the Packers, but I will happily vote for Russ.

Kinda early for me to commit to a candidate, I am more in a Anybody-But-Hillary Mode, but that won't stop me from helping Russ.

12. Let's concentrate on 2006
otherwise there may not even be an election in 2008
regardless of who might run.
