Purdue graduate student accused of threatening Bush

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- A Purdue University graduate student has been charged with making online threats against President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney, their spouses and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Vikram S. Buddhi, a native of India who enrolled at Purdue 10 years ago to pursue a doctorate degree in mathematics, made his initial appearance Wednesday in U.S. District Court, Hammond. Federal Magistrate Andrew P. Rodovich ordered Buddhi held without bond pending his arraignment April 26.
