ok, hoosier-O's, need a little local info-fun in indianapolis for obamanoughts
so, a bunch of lunatic democrats are coming down this weekend to knock on doors. i have been tasked to find some entertainment (read- alcohol) in the vicinity of our hotel. we are at the America’s Best Inns and Suites, 4585 South Harding Street. this is apparently on the southern edge of downtown?
anyway- my first thought is that there is a rockbottom downtown. anyone been there? good place for some footsore dems? looks like it is not that far. how is the downtown area? do we need a plan to park?
any other ideas?
and most important, anyone want to come out and hoist one?

2. There is quite a bit of paid parking withing walking distance of Rock Bottom
You can access parking at Circle Center Mall via Washington Street, Maryland Street and Illinois Street. All the hotels have parking, but that would be a bit pricier. Parking, all in all should not be a problem.

3. thanks
just finished making the actual plans, and we are going to alcatraz. sounds like they are close together, tho, eh? we will be in that mall.
we wanted to do something for the younger folks with us, as several are too young to find beer drinking to be entertainment enough. so we went with the mall, so the "kids" could go to gameworks. kinda rather do a local brewery anyway. although rock bottom does let their brewers have a lot of latitude.

would be great if some local du'ers showed up. we are in the balcony.

4. Rock Bottom is fine, Mr. WMU and I also like Alcatraz Brewing Co.
although it can be hit and miss with more hits than misses. Clear as mud?

If you want to go to a politically connected establishment, Loughmiller's next to the Westin is THE place to go. Lots of political people rubbing elbows. Indy DUers have had a few meetups there.

Let us know when you are in town - maybe we could plan a little impromptu gathering! :hi:
