Please Help! Iowa Ballot Sent in The Mail?
I was talking with a friend last night and she told me her Mom was flying to NC from Iowa for a visit the first week in November. She told me she asked her what she was going to do about voting. Her Mom said she had already voted. She had received a ballot in the mail and she filled it in and mailed it back. My friend said she asked if it was an absentee ballot and her Mom said no she never asked for one. This is the first time she had ever gotten a ballot in the mail! wtf is going on? Are there some repuke dirty tricks in Iowa?

1. I heard a similar story this week
From a daughter of a woman who said she got a ballot and hadn't requested one. She's going to check into it further this weekend. Hmmmm. Looks like there may be something fishy going on.

2. She should call the voter registration office and get the low-down
They will be able to help her.

A dem friend of mine out of TX has voted absentee for years out of his small town. This year, he found that his name had been removed from the voter registration list! He was royally pissed, and he wrote a letter to Kerry to give him a heads up.

4. Iowa Absentee Ballot
Did her Mom attend the Iowa Democratic caucus in January? If she did she may have filled out an absentee ballot request at that time, which would have been mailed for her by the party at the appropriate time.

5. Have her mom call the County Auditor's Office -
they should be able to tell her if she voted absentee or not.

If not, she can ask them where to go to vote early before she leaves.
