"Library Services and Technology Act"
Got this in my email--
Tomorrow is the deadline for all U.S. Senators to sign on to a letter from Senators Reed (RI) & Snowe (ME) which supports and funds Libraries and Museums across the USA.
Unfortunately, neither of Missouri's Senators have signed on. Last year the LSTA funding brought ~$3.3m for Missouri Libraries and an additional $1.3m for Missouri's Museums.
Coming into the office tomorrow and finding a completely filled answering machine, (and continuing to get calls till they sign on tomorrow) may well 'save the day!'
Many folks worry that they will be asked questions if they call during the day, (so they prefer to call in the evening when the office is closed,) but I promise you that the most difficult question usually asked is "what is your zip code?" They need to get on to other callers!
Folks may call from home and office and cell, as they are constituents in all 3 locations! Ask your Family, friends, siblings, neighbors, colleagues & email friends!
16 words, 5 minutes Towards Millions of Dollars for Libraries and Museums!
The simple message: "Please ask Senator _____________ to sign on to the "Dear Colleagues Letter for Libraries!" Thank You!"
Senator Bond: (202) 224-5721 Senator McCaskill: (202) 224-6154
Best of Luck and Thank you very much
P.S. Kansas's LSTA funding is: $1.91m for Libraries, $320k for Museums Senator Brownback (202) 224-6521 Senator Roberts (202) 224-4774
C'mon, Jayhawkers! It for Kansas libraries!
