Olathe blogger accuses Senator Owens of lying about Bronze Stars
Overland Park state Sen. Tim Owens took after an Olathe blogger today for putting out false rumors that he didn’t really earn three Bronze Stars in Vietnam.

Meeting with the media this morning, Owens showed the paperwork documenting the three Bronze Stars he won for meritorious service while serving as a counterintelligence officer.

Laid out on a table, three certificates were on display showing Owens had been awarded the decorations. He also showed the paperwork — a form called a DD-214 — showing his military service and the awards he earned.

An official at the National Personnel Records Center in St. Louis, where military records are housed, confirmed for PrimeBuzz that Owens has three Bronze Stars. He also confirmed the senator’s status as retired from U.S. Army Intelligence.

This is ridiculous. The blogger is Ken Dunwoody. His apology is pretty lame. http://nolathe.net/
