Northup can't count on GOP bankroll - looks like she is on her own.

According to today's Courier Journal Northup won't be getting any money for the GOP in her run against John Yarmuth. Couldn't happen to a more deserving person. She is horrible and a Bush/Cheney/McInsane acolyte. She doesn't take a dump without calling the White House first. I'm assuming she probably has McInsane on speed dial.

WASHINGTON -- When Republican Anne Northup ran for re-election to her 3rd District House seat in 2004 and 2006, she got almost $900,000 from her party's congressional fundraising arm.

The money paid for ads attacking her opponents and for campaign activities such as polling.

This year, however, it could be different.

The National Republican Congressional Committee is likely to play only a minor role in aiding Northup's campaign to win back the seat she lost to Democrat John Yarmuth two years ago.

That's because the committee faces hard times. It had about $7.1 million available as of the end of April, according to Federal Election Commission records, compared with $44.3 million for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.

Two years ago the Republican committee raised $179 million to the Democrats' $92.9 million. The GOP spent it all and went into debt another $14 million. The Democrats spent $48.4 million.

Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia's Center for Politics, said the GOP campaign committee's money problem "is very rancid icing on a very stale cake."

Good read.
