Anyone else getting calls from ITC Research?
I got a call last week, and they called again tonight. Last week's questions were:

1. If the election were held today, who would you vote for, George Bush or John Kerry?
2. Are you voting for John Kerry because you like Kerry's positions on issues, or are you voting for him because he's "anyone but Bush"?

Tonight's questions were:

1. Do you think the Republican Congress has done enough to help middle class Americans?
2. How important is it to you that Democrats control the next Congress? 1-extremely 2-very 3-somewhat 4-not important

I'm kind of interested to see if other people in the state are getting calls too, or if it is someone running in the 3rd District that is doing the polling.

Thanks!

1. They showed up in Connecticut
Just got a "push poll" here in Connecticut from them, for 2nd Congressional District that went (close to verbatim as I can remember):

---

This is a one question poll from ITC Research. Recent news has show the costs of a ciollege educaltion, medical care and education are rising. Congressman Rob Simmons supports President Bush's economic plan. His challenger, Jim Sullivan, wants to roll back tax cuts. Based on this information, press "1" if you will support Rob Simmons. Press 2 if you will support Jim Sullivan.

----(end of quote)

That type of "polling" is considered completely unethical by the more reputable polling groups (see A Press WARNING from the National Council on Public Polls)

4. they're still at it
I just got one in Pennsylvania. Same two questions, but here's the catch - I said I was voting for Bush (please, don't shoot me!), and it still asked me the same question #2 (Are you voting for John Kerry because you like Kerry's positions on issues, or are you voting for him because he's "anyone but Bush"?). Sounds like a very poorly made push poll. If it is a republican stunt, I apologize for all my idiotic brethren.
