Absentee Voting Hits Record High in Louisiana
http://2theadvocate.com/livepages4/683.shtml

(snip) "Absentee voting in Louisiana hit a record when 114,494 of the state’s 2.9 million voters cast ballots early for Tuesday’s presidential election."

Of those casting absentee ballots, 94,732 voters are white, 16,703, black and 3,059 of other races. As far as party breakdown, there were 56,949 Democrats, 43,199 Republicans and 14,346 other-party or no-party voters.

More females than males voted absentee -- 58,336 females to 56,158 male.

Big-population parishes led the way when it came to numbers of absentee votes cast.

But voter interest was particularly high in some rural parishes. Red River led the way with 9.6 percent of voters casting absentee ballots. LaSalle had 9.2 percent, Caldwell 8.5 percent and West Carroll 8.3 percent." (end snip)

1. I've got a gut feeling about...
Louisiana turning blue! I thought we surrendered this state for good after 2000, but Blanco beating Jindal renewed my enthusiasm. And with turnout approaching record numbers for this election, I think we've got a good chance!!!
