6. That ..... I can't be civil.
I hope he becomes a republican the day after the election.

What an ass. He sez that since there aren't black democrats to vote for, he'll support Mr. Steele based on the color of his skin.
Bite me.

7. That's stupid
because the lieutenant gubernatorial candidate is African American and that's what Steele is now.

8. Curry's a DINO
Apparently the Repukes were trying to get him to cross over and run for Lt Gov with Erlich. I guess a blind white woman scored more affirmative action points than a black man, so they threw him under the bus.

10. yup the pg county council 5 members plus curry
how many members are there total? None of this is good imo. Mfume would have been a stronger candidate....but so many dems I spoke with were put off by his name...now we have this.

12. They had that on
msnbc that day. I am not from PG nor do I know much about PG County so it was a ho hum for me, as was the Post endorsement. I listen and look but might as well be another state when it comes to where I live. The Sun endorsement carries a lot more weight around here.
I have been handing out O'Malley literature specially to those that ask if he is a relative since I got a t-shirt. The t-shirt has given me the chance to talk to more people about why I am voting for O'Malley than the literature. Wish I had a Cardin shirt now. We don't get much attention here and it shows when people think you have to be a relative to actually have a t-shirt. At this point I think I will wash it every night so I can wear it everyday until the 7th.

13. PG Council
First. Post. Ever.

There are 9 Council Members. 5 black, 3 white, 1 hispanic. Not ironically, they represent the majority race in each of their districts. I bring up their race, because the Washington Post gave this endorsement the ol' front page treatment (and they said the endorsement was largely race-based). The endorsements from these candidates don't matter worth a hill of beans. Local politicians' endorsements have virtually no sway with regard to state-wide candidates. Now, if Cardin had endorsed a local councilman, that might actually matter.

PG is a lock for Cardin and in a big way. Around 70-75%.
Erlich, however, will carry a much larger percentage of the County than people expect. If I had to guess. I would put him at 40%, which means he's practically unbeatable Statewide, unless O'Malley makes similar inroads into Baltimore County.

The media is making a far bigger deal about the whole republican-endorsements-by-black-dems thing, because it makes for good headlines and buzz.

11. Moonie Times gave this huge front-page coverage.
:eyes:

The Post stuck it in the Metro section and noted that a poll indicated that Steele had only about 14 percent support among black voters, if I recall correctly.
