Anyone in the state expect to be able to plant a garden this year?
It has been so cold and rainy, I'm wondering if I will be wasting money on flats.

I want to try some tomato plants in a large pot, and I think it about time to do it. 42 degrees here last night.

I usually have a good size garden but there will be repair done to an area where a neighbors wall fell down and the contractors will be messing up my yard with their equipment. This is just the spot where I usually plant whatever I choose each summer.

Nothing I can do with the yard situation but is it time for those pots yet? Any thoughts?

1. We pretty much gave up after last year
I'm out in the Western part of the state, in one of the Hilltowns. Our seasons are two weeks out of synch with the "flatlands". In fact, last year we didn't even run the AC once during the whole summer. Usually we only have to run it for about a week or so during August...last year...no. Not really hot enough to make it intolerable here.

So our tomatoes sucked. I planted spinach and beets. We got a pitiful crop of both.

Weeds, however, do just great. I suppose we could always make dandelion wine and eat the greens. They're about the only things that grow here.

2. Planted some already and I hope it will be all right.
Just outside of Boston so it wasn't as cold as the 'burbs got, but it was still mighty cold.
