I live just over 26 miles away from where I work and am stuck with Route 128 as my only real means of getting to work. Today it took me 2 hours and 17 minutes, averaging less than 13 MPH. Hailu Negussie of Ethopia, this year's Boston Marathon winner could literally have run the distance faster than I drove here (He finished the marathon is just over 2 hours 11 minutes).
3. Considering that I spend 11 hours a day sitting on my keister
I don't think I'll be running distance any time soon! I just felt the need to bitch about the worst highway in MA.
The "engineer" who decided to put the on ramp from 93 to 128 *before* the offramp from 128 to 93 basically destroyed the entire highway and should be found and spanked. repeatedly.
I eagerly await the day that they either decide to build a second deck over route 128 or that they finally decide to build a viable rail system. Until then I'll just sit in traffic and twiddle my thumbs while I watch marathoners running to work.
Are you in Waltham? I did that drive for 5+ years. I kept expecting "Freddie" to pop out of the pavement. I go to Methuen now, so only need 128 to 93. This morning was the first GOOD day since school vacation enede though. Things must have really clogged up after ..oh..let me guess....just after Washington St,right???
Until a week and a half ago I had been driving from Peabody to Canton every day since Thanksgiving week. I made sure to leave by 6 AM!
been doing the Salem to Waltham drive every day now for 2+ years. To say it sucks would be an understatement along the lines of "Bush occasionally lies"
I'm considering taking a job in Needam; commuting from medford. I tried it yesterday during morning rush (rt.2 to 95 to exit 19) and it took me 35 minutes. I thought that wasn't bad.
