I HATE this Weather!
I have to rant:it's May 26 and last night we had a fire going in the woodstove because we HAD to get rid of the dampness in the cellar.

This will be the 3rd time I've "cleaned up" my yard for Spring

I'm sick of putting the storm windows in place and taking them off again

It sucks,it's depressing, I hate it!

3. 50 mile an hour wind gusts make it difficult to walk
and those have been going on for 3 days

What flowers? Most have blown away; most people have put off buying any because the weather has been so shitty

5. Go to the woods ....
...... and find a place that the invasive plants have not taken over.
and look @ the forest floor ..... see how many spring ephemerals
you can find ..... In gardens I Guarantee you can find lilacs ........
if not too far gone cut some blooms take them in your house. .....
If you want to be unhappy about about the weather that is your choice
because there is nothing you can do about it.

And hey if it cold:
* go to Boston
* go to the Union Oyster House
* order the Chowder

2. Don't be so wicked depressed
You're in Massachusetts, right? Youse guys had to deal with the Red Sox for a lot longer than the cold weather!

I know -- I'm a Philly boy. And here, when the Phils -- or Da Iggles, in football -- have a bad inning, people whine. And boo.

OK, so football doesn't have innings. I'm just sayin'.

:)

7. One good outcome from the rain: everything is so green
it's very pretty.

But it's supposed to be 75 degrees. We may have a decent weekend with temps closer to normal.

I have never put my heat on this late in the season. :-(

9. It really *is* depressing
To make matters worse, my bus didn't show up this morning. Out here in the sticks, it's 35 minutes between buses, so I had to stand in the drizzle for the whole time waiting for the next one. And I think I'm getting a cold.

*whine, whine*

10. Me too
Down here on the Cape it is STILL raining. I haven't walked in days and I feel like a slug. Plus I was counting on my heating bill finally going down. Sigh.

13. For more than two weeks, now, my bones and joints are screaming . . .

For more than two weeks, now, my bones and joints are screaming . . . "PUT ON THE HEAT AND DRY OUT!!" . . . so against all that is "Yankee" streaming through my blood, I turned on the heat in mid-May! Unreal.

Today, it's a tad bit more normal weather but not quite . . . here along the north shore's ocean, we remain wet, wet, damn and raw.

I feel that if I plant the tomato plants, etc., on this Monday, Memorial Day, then they, too, will shudder and scream . . . This being Saturday, May 28, 2005. YIKES!

14. Imagine how the tomatoes would have shuddered if you planted them
last weekend

You probably would be planting a new crop to replace them

16. Did you know that to have peas on the 4th of July you have to plant
them on St Patrick's Day?

I believe we had snow on the ground that day around here; I won't be having fresh peas on the 4th

I've done that as well as plant spinach in the cooler weather . . . so's it won't "bolt." Peas planted early are wonderfully tender and crisp, melt in your mouth. I didn't plant peas this year, however.

fresh home-grown peas are yummy

18. Just had to chime in on the "cleaning the yard" stuff
OMG I know!!!

We thought we were so far ahead this year because we had most of it done in April. Then we spent just about every weekend in May doing the exact darn thing all over again. Arg.

Hopefully this last weekend was our last time. :hi:
