Town Hall Meeting on Iraq with MN Rep. Martin Sabo - Jan. 3rd
The DFL Progressive Caucus will be holding a Town Hall Meeting with Representative Martin Sabo of Minnesota's Fifth Congressional District, on January 3rd, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. at South High School in Minneapolis. All are welcome.

4. Town Hall Forums are great! About 500 people turned out.

Moderators didn't have much to do. Folks were whipped up and ready to make statements to Congressman Sabo. This was very much a listening session for him and he got an earful.

One of the better reps, he was still called on the carpet for voting to fund the war.

As several people pointed out, they can't have a war if they don't fund it!

Comments about stolen elections, torture, the lost $8 billion, the criminal activity among elected leaders and corporations brought focus to the insanity we are living with.

Sabo pretty much said it's all Republicans' fault. Don't blame the Dems for any of it.

edit to add: He made one comment I noted because it was quite interesting. He said Lieberman is "isolated as a Democrat."

6. can't go to everything. So much going on
forgot to mention that Wetterling, Bell and Klobuchar were all there. They KNOW Iraq is a major issue. Now they know how passionately people feel about it.
