Is the House DFL giving Entenza the boot?
If they've got half a brain, they will. Here's an e-mail exchange that some other blog posted that indicates Matt Entenza's minority leadership may be in trouble:

From: John Dorn
To: House DFL Legislators
Date: Thursday - January 5, 2006 9:50 AM
Subject: Re: Caucus meeting request
See you all on the 28th. Hope your new year is a happy one.

>>> Irv Anderson 01/04/06 3:40 PM >>> Your absoluteley right Juhnke we shoud have a discussion on Matt He is runmning for a statewide office and all the thefireworks in that campaign are going to hit us.

>>> Cy Thao 01/03/06 9:07 PM >>> I don't think we should move this quick and have this discussion via the internet. I think this discussion should be done at the meeting on whether we should elect a new leader this coming year. I think Matt have done a good job, we should at least give him until the end of the session. Cy

Dear Fellow House DFL Members: January 28th is the date that has been set for our next House DFL Caucus meeting. Since it has been more than a year since our last non-session caucus, this will be an important get-together for us. (Note: the House GOP and Senate DFL had fall caucus meetings and will have successive meetings this winter, too.)

On behalf of a number of members, I am requesting we set aside a substantial block of time for our caucus leadership election. Although this discussion and vote should have been conducted months ago, it is none-the-less a critical matter that we need to sort through now. Based on the request of many members, the reason this caucus was called in the first place was to conduct the Minority Leader election.

Bearing that in mind, I would also request that this item be placed on the agenda early in the meeting (and not wait until days end when folks are wanting to leave). It is also crucial that ample time be allowed for review of the current leadership's policies, directions, and past practices as well as giving any potential candidates the chance to lay out their visions.

I would also request that unlike the last Caucus planning session where the 'gong' ruled the day as far as free speech was concerned, we need to make sure all members have whatever time they need to make comments. That December 2004 meeting became very divisive within our caucus as we moved into 2005, we do not need a repeat as we move into 2006.
Respectfully,

Rep. Al Juhnke - District 13B
