His phonebank machine called my phone message machine and they talked to each other for a bit. The best thing I heard him say is he's running against Michele Bachmann. I don't know much else about him, though.

She really is a nutcase. She's not even getting the conservative messages 'right'. What a loon. I'm tempted to say anybody would be better. Just wondering if someone here knows more about this election.

As for Tinklenberg, he's "our person" because he's the DFL endorsed candidate and the only other viable candidate in the race. So give him money, volunteer, do whatever it takes to lance the pus-oozing boil on the 6th CD known as Michele Bachmann.

Elwyn Tinklenberg is an excellent speaker. I think he has what it takes to beat Bachmann.

3. The sixth district is R+5.

In the US in general, Bush beat Kerry by 3 points (assuming the numbers aren't fraudulent.)

In the sixth district, Bush beat Kerry by 8 points (8-3 makes "R+5")

Even if Tinklenberg is more conservative than us, he may be the best we can hope for in the sixth district in the near future.

7. I marched in a parade with El today.

Several smatterings of applause,and only one thumbs down.

Was told that at an earlier parade in a more affluent area, "no boos!" as there had been in previous years.

I grasp all straws of hope.
