1. I called her local office @ 612-727-5220
They don't handle policy questions here locally, but will gladly transfer your call to DC. I was told that the situation is in flux, so it isn't known how Amy will vote. Neither is it known how she will vote on the Feingold/Dodd/Leahy Amendment. I left her aide with the same message that I left with Norm's aide: I will never vote for or support in any way anyone who votes for a bill that includes retroactive immunity, and that I will actively seek their defeat.

I'm not usually a single issue voter, but this one drives me a little crazy. Bush coerces these telecoms giants to open up the switchboards to the government, with only Qwest having the good sense to deny the request, all of this happening months before 9-11, and the Congressional response is to climb into the time machine and make it all okay?

2. A vote for this FISA is a vote for "If the president does it, it's not illegal"
What the hell do they mean it's not known how Klobuchar will vote on this? We elected a fucking DEMOCRAT in 2006, not another shred-the-Constitution Republican. If she votes for this travesty the lawn signs of hers in my garage are going in the garbage.

4. If she votes for this
I'm going to track her down Sat. at the DFL picnic. I suggest others do the same.

She and her staff got hammered at the state fair last year after she voted for it the first time it came up.

3. When she was a prosecutor, she would surely have been furious...
...if legislators had kicked the legs out from under her case by granting immunity to the perps she was prosecuting in order to get them to testify against higher-ups.

She can not, must not, will not vote to make crime legal. Write her, call her, let her know that her constituents are counting on her.
