'Obama Urges Minnesotans To Send Al Franken to Washington'
If you know any Obama supporters who are leaning towards Norm Coleman or Dean Barkely, then please email or phone them about this:

“I will say that your candidate in Minnesota, Al Franken, is going to be an important part of a coalition that brings about change. He’s really, I think, in this to fight for working families. I’m looking forward to seeing him serve in the Senate.

“And if people are looking for fundamental change over the next eight years, then I think an Obama-Biden ticket, Al Franken in the Senate, is going to be the best answer for working families all across the state.”

1. Franken has been a tough sell
Conversations almost always degenerate into the feeling that both he and Coleman are unattractive . . .

2. Franken has always come to Minnesota to support DFL candidates

He believes in the social compact that powered Senator Wellstone's philosophy.

He's written well-researched (comedic) books that skewered right-wing pundits, hypocrisy, and ideas.

He built his knowledge and credibility through his radio show.

Unlike Coleman, he actually lived here during his formative years.

He brings the insight of a comedian, a person whose role it is to point out the absurdities of life, to his creative and political thinking.

No one should have any hesitation to vote for Al Franken as opposed to Dean Barkley or Norm Coleman.

4. The "National Republican Senatorial Committee" and other pro-Coleman groups...
...ran ads taking Al Franken's words out-of-context.
