Minneapolis police are seeking the public's help regarding the death of a woman they believe was an attempted suicide in Uptown last week.

The Hennepin County medical examiner's office has identified the woman as Katherine Simmons Flom, 52, of Minneapolis. Her body was found on the northeast corner of Lagoon Avenue and Knox Avenue S. about 6 a.m. Friday.

Police believe she jumped from an apartment window, but her body was found a short distance away, said Minneapolis police spokesman Sgt. Bill Palmer.

"We don't know the exact sequence of events," he said. "Her injuries are consistent with being struck by a vehicle." The medical examiner's office has not determined a cause of death.

Anyone who lives in the area or was passing through is asked to call Sgt. Christopher Gaiters at 612-673-2315.
