Star Tribune: Pawlenty to announce 'future plans' today
"Pawlenty to announce 'future plans' today

By BOB VON STERNBERG , Star Tribune
Last update: June 2, 2009 - 11:05 AM

Gov. Tim Pawlenty, under intense scrutiny about his future political plans, may clear things up today.

His office sent an e-mail to reporters this morning saying he will hold a 2 p.m. press conference to discuss 'his future plans.'

It didn’t specify the nature of those plans, but WCCO reported that Pawlenty will announce he won’t be running for a third term next year."

1. It's official-- he'll soon be America's problem
Thank God he won't do any more damage to this state than he already has. Even three more years of him is three too many.

2. They are now saying he won't seek a third term
I guess he doesn't want his duties to interfere with his presidental plans. As if.

4. Why won't people scrutinize what he's been doing, instead of wondering what he might do post-office

5. He made the statement that he "has plans" for MN. for the next 19 yrs.!!!!!!!!!!
Gawd! That means he is not going to leave office without doing major damage to this State. The fact that he sees himself involved in MN.'s future this way really bothered me. Heads up peeps!

11. Unfortunately you heard correctly...
He said he has plans for Minnesota "not just for the next nineteen months, but the next nineteen years", we need to make sure those plans fail. If there are any Minnesotans in the Twin Cities area who want to stand up to him PM me and we will come up with some good protest ideas.

12. They must have cut the clip I heard off before he got to the 19 years part
Edited on Wed Jun-03-09 09:21 PM by dflprincess
19 months made sense because that's when his term ends and he can fade into obscurity (no matter how he tries not to). It was during drive time - maybe whoever edited the tape was afraid of causing accidents if too many heard that while in their cars.

I feel ill.

13. oh damn
I no longer live in the TC but will keep my ears and eyes open to what will be going on. T-Paw and Normie are going to try to not go away. They are too tied into special interests. The only way I can see them evaporating is if special interests that they support become less influential. They have no other skill set really and are selfish and greedy and lazy.

I too feel ill......

6. and, hilariously, Normie's name is being floated for Governor!
Um, he already lost that one to Jesse.
So would he still be fighting for "his" Senate seat as he's campaigning for another office then?

Oh, and Pawlenty: go away.

9. Shit.
Can we get Ed Schultz to run for governor against him? That would be karma... getting his asked kicked for political office by 2 different liberal radio hosts!

10. I like that
Ed Schultz could solve the problem of how to sell a progressive (or more progressive than a Republican or Colin Peterson) to some of the rural areas of the state.
