I was very surprised to see her name listed here. I would expect Franken's name there instead.

Gulf oil spill: Senators call for criminal, civil charges against BP

Eight senators urged U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric J. Holder on Monday to open up an inquiry of oil giant BP in connection with the April 20 well blowout that has been pouring an estimated 210,000 gallons of crude daily into the Gulf of Mexico.

The letter was signed by senators Boxer, Benjamin L. Cardin (D-Md.); Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.); Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.); Thomas R. Carper (D-Del.) and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.).

1. It is just a call
Where she has trouble is when it cones time to vote and state her opinion until she has heard from everyone else.

5. Klobuchar's personality and character
As I watch Klobuchar I see a continued emphasis on frequent photo ops and speeches accompanied by votes and actual positions that are a complete sell out (e.g., "clean" coal -- you kidding?). I saw how she refused to support the public option until it was too late (a sell out to her health insurance campaign contributors). I also saw how she supports the bankers and financiers while making speeches declaring she is standing up for the ordinary citizen. Oh sure. And how about her photo ops with our troops? If she really cared, she would get them out of harm's way or at least ensure they receive adequate care when they come home ruined for life with invisible brain injuries for example. Of course, Amy does none of that because disabled vets cannot afford to make campaign contributions.

All in all, Klobuchar is what psychologists would call a person with a psychopathic personality. I have met charming compulsive liars like her before and things always end up the same way with them -- they run off with the goods and leave a shambles in their wake.

It is interesting to watch Amy interact with others too -- she displays the lack of empathy typical of a psychopath. I can't think of a time I saw Amy ever respond with truth empathy to others -- the real emotion just is not there.

It is interesting that I think Kelliher is basically the same type of manipulative person. I cannot see how Kelliher could win in November.

In the meantime, I am starting to love, love, love Al Franken. He is our guy!!!

That statement could be applied equally to Klobuchar or Palin. Fine company you're in there, Amy.

3. She probably thinks she'll be able to use this to pacify the left wing of the DFL in 2012
Let's see what she does if she actually has to take a stand. And, keep in mind, that coming out against an oil company is not a particularly risky position to take (especially one with "British" in its name).

8. Was there a photo-op involved?
If so, that could easily explain it.

9. Calling for removal of the wolf from endangered species list is doing NOTHING for Klobuchar's image
http://www.twincities.com/politics/ci_15116625

Who's afraid of the big bad wolf? Klobuchar and Oberstar, that's who. Both are calling for removal of the timber wolf from the Endangered Species List. What's laughable about this is they are listening to ignorant deer hunters up north who are complaining that wolves are to blame for their lack of hunting success. Deer numbers are at all-time highs in Minnesota. I'm afraid these yahoos are just afraid to admit that their hunting skills aren't what they claim they are.
