"The Kennedys" miniseries - rejected by the History channel after it invested 30 million in it
and then decided it did not "fit the network's brand" and also rejected by Showtime - has been given a home by Reelz CEO, Minnesota's own Stan Hubbard.

I could't find a link to the Strib's very short blurb about it, but found this:

The Kennedys" miniseries has found a home on cable's ReelzChannel. The network announced Tuesday that the multimillion-dollar production will begin its run on April 3.

The ambitious 8-part miniseries, a portrait of the Kennedy family told in a multigenerational manner, was produced by the History Channel. Katie Holmes as John and Jackie Kennedy, did not fit the "History brand."

The real-life Kennedy family and associates were said to be unhappy about the series, claiming its scripts were inaccurate and overly critical.
Showtime subsequently passed on the film.

ReelzChannel is available in 60 million homes.

It's the kind of quality programming one can expect from Hubbard Communications :sarcasm:

1. I've never heard of "Reelz"

& did Stanley move to New Mexico? That's apparently where Reelz HQ is based.

I saw a few weeks ago that the History Channel (a.k.a. Hitler Channel, since that's what the majority of programming seemed to revolve around when I used to bother flipping by) turned it down. Wow. It must be really bad. But then, hasn't this been done before? Why bother?

2. Reelz
is what they kept when they sold their share of DirecTV. I suppose Reelz headquarters is in New Mexico because they own several TV stations there. The Stan Hubbard mentioned in this story is not THE Stan Hubbard (Stanley S. Hubbard) the family patriarch, but his son, Stanley E. Hubbard.
