Democrats accuse Norm "the weasel" Coleman of trying to muzzle dissent
Here he goes again, publicly kissing Bush butt again:

:puke:

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Sen. Norm Coleman irritated Democrats on Wednesday in a floor speech criticizing Rep. John Murtha, D-Pa., a well-known defense hawk who has called the present course of the war in Iraq "unwinnable."

"This war is winnable," the Minnesota Republican told his Senate colleagues. "But if insurgents heard his words, it was harder to win than before he spoke."

Coleman's remarks prompted an outcry among Democrats, who accused him of trying to muzzle dissent.

Minnesota DFL Party chairman Mike Erlandson issued a statement noting Murtha's service as a Marine in Vietnam while Coleman was leading protests against the war. ”It is rank hypocrisy for Coleman to now try to quiet a fellow member of Congress and suggest that Representative Murtha and anyone else who disagrees with President Bush's misguided, mismanaged policies in Iraq should not speak out," Erlandson said.

Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D., described himself as "stunned" by Coleman's remarks. He entered a statement into the record saying, "If there is one individual whose support for our troops and their effort I never thought would be subject to attack, it is John Murtha."

Coleman said that while there is "room for debate" on Iraq, members of Congress need to be careful about what they say in public.
"In a world of instantaneous global communication, we need to be very sensitive to what we say on the public record and how our words can be interpreted by those who wish to destroy us," he said.

1. I don't know how you people in
Minnesota can stand this pukeball slimy worm, especially after having Wellstone for a senator. The only reason, and I mean the ONLY reason, he's in office is because Wellstone is dead, and because he died just a day before his name would have remained on the ballot. It was probably all he could do to restrain his utter glee when he heard about the crash. What a disgusting travesty this man is, and what a shameful rebuke he is to Wellstone's legacy.

I can barely stand the thought of him, and I'm in Ohio; I can imagine how those of you in Minnesota fortunate enough to experience Wellstone as a senator must feel.

4. Oh, we can't stand him either!
Did you know a day or so after Wellstone died, Norm was interviewed standing right in front of a small plane? I think he was trying to rub our noses in it... Bastard.

5. He is true vermin.
He capitalized on Wellstone's death in his political ads, had the nerve to say "I thank god for this opportunity" (Nov 6, 2002 Star Tribune, page A17... or maybe A11?), this, and the latest from that lizard is he pretending to support an extension around unemployment benefits and then voting AGAINST it (thus causing it to lose by 1 vote)...

He's vile.

All I could do was look at the television and scream:

9. Oh believe me, we hate Coleman
Counting the absentee ballots for Senator Wellstone and the votes for Senator Mondale, COLEMAN LOST. That was one of the most egregious abuses of power I have ever seen; allowing Coleman absentee ballots and not counting Senator Wellstone's absentee ballots.

8. That's the best description yet: "receptacle"
Just watch the rightwing toss its trash into Norm, and watch it get spewed forth "Coleman style".

Just to think that eight years ago in front of the DFL convention he was praising not only Clinton's re-election, but Wellstone's too. IIRC, he was the honorary chair of Clinton's '96 campaign in Minnesota, too!

Norm Coleman needs to go in '08. At this point, even another Republican would be better than him.
