Going against Gonzales

I was very happy to read Sen. Mark Dayton is going to oppose the nomination of Alberto Gonzales to be U.S. attorney general. I don't think the majority of Minnesotans support the idea of bending laws to allow torture of foreign prisoners.

Many will call this a partisan attack or say the election is over. I agree, the election is over. Now it is time for senators to do their job and reject Gonzales' nomination. Just because Gonzales will probably be confirmed is no reason for Democrats to roll over and play dead on this issue.
