Clubs lay bare criticisms of bill


Dick Snow sees Bazooka’s Showgirls, his nude dancing club, as part of the success story of the Crossroads District in downtown Kansas City.

Some Missouri lawmakers, however, see Bazooka’s and similar clubs as a blight on morals.

Last week, morals won when the General Assembly passed a bill to outlaw totally nude dancing, raise the minimum age of patrons and dancers to 21 and require at least 10 feet between seminude performers and customers. It also would add restrictions on adult video arcades.

1. This is a tough one for me

I am all for businesses meeting demands and I do see a demand for these clubs.

But I would never go to one of these places. Heck, I won't even go to Hooter's.

I worked in a bar with dancers when I was in college. One of the motivators for finishing my education was knowing I wouldn't have to work in a bar like that ever again.
