Letter from Ike
I wrote a letter about a week ago to Rep. Ike Skelton in ref to his signing the Conyers letter. I have already received a response mailed to my home.

"Thank you for contacting me to share your thoughts regarding a letter that was recently sent to the President by a number of my House colleagues and me. I appreciate hearing from you.
On May 5, 2005, I joined several of my colleagues in the House in writing to the President asking for specific, detailed information regarding whether his Administration had secretly worked w/ the Bristish government to invade Iraq prior to obtaining Congressional authority to engage in military action. Reparts that the Administration had agreed to attack Iraq as early as the summer of 2002 were recently revealed in British news publications and allegedly confirmed by representatives fo the Blair government. While various individuals, including former Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill and former National SEcurity Council official Richard Clarke, have asserted this to be the case before, the Administration has repeatedly dismissed the claims.
As the Ranking Democrat ont he House Armed Services Committee and as a member of Congress who supported the use of force resolution based on the intelligence given to me at the time, I want to know if these allegations area true or false. I look forward to hearing from the White House in the coming weeks.
Again, thank you for getting in touch with me. With best regards, I remain,
Very truly yours,
Ike Skelton
Member of Congress"

I posted the letter in full. Since Ike is my rep I thought that some might be interested in what he has stated, especially since he is the ranking Dem on the House Armed Services Committee.
If any of you agree w/ his decision to sign the Conyers letter, please send him a quick email and let him know. He is taking alot of crap in my area for doing just that.

3. Then write him again.
I will.
I went to a lecture once where they had a professional letterwriter. She stated that when it comes to politicians, they believe that one letter represents the feelings of ten people. If you have five people write similar letters then they would believe that at least 50 others feel the same.
I am also going to a function w/ someone who knows Ike personally. I will pass on my views to her.

2. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I live in MA & tried to send Mr. Skeleton an email from Boston, MA.

<snip>

The ZIP Code you entered does not exist in the 4th District of Missouri.

Congressional courtesy provides that Representatives be given the opportunity to assist their own constituents, so I strongly encourage you to contact your Representative in Congress.

Duh, no shit.

http://www.house.gov/hasc/ was also useless.

Do me a favor, tell Ike I said to "Give them Hell!"

(on edit: put down the zip code 64093. That would be for Warrensburg. Tell him that you visit the area often but are not from here. Maybe it can go through next time).
