How does it look for Kay Barnes?
I live outside the country right now and hopefully will be sending my absentee ballot off soon. How is Kay Barnes doing? Does it look like she has a shot?

1. She got good news today
The Kansas City Star endorsed her.

And in a FWIW, Show Me The Vote !!'s request letters of Election Officials in Missouri pulled in a response both of the bi-partisan Election Directors in Platte County. they have promised to run a fair, impartial election with no "caging" and no phony "Voter ID" issues.

Look for that story to break on DU tomorrow or Monday.

3. Yes, sometimes
The Dems were in a position in some years of putting up someone without the credentials to be a Congressman. Those years they went with Graves, as opposed to Howdy Dowdy, Whizzo the Clown, or whomever else the Dems got to run. This is the first really serious challenge Graves has faced.

In our local Missouri House and Senate races today, the KCStar endorsed all Dems but about three GOP candidates, who were incumbents.

The KCStar may be a corporate MSM lapdog, in general, but in the present circumstances, there is little choice. It is the Dems, or the Hordes of Attila the Hun, on steroids.

Blunt, and the MO GOP party in general, is certifiably looney. That strain of Christo-Dominionism that crept in with John Ashcroft, and his friends and minions, has never gone away. Truth be known, they are all still waiting for the Rapture, pure and simple.
