Let's Hope Jay Nixon can hold off the GOP on UM spending
We are near the bottom of the 50 states as far as University Spending. A 25% cut would be more than absurd.

1. I don't envy Gov. Nixon
Facing an $800 million shortfall without the ability to borrow and a Republican legislature, it would take a herculean effort not to cut something from necessary services.

2. Yeah. He is in a bind.
I would seem to think the last thing anyone should do to get out of a financial crisis, though, is to cut education. He would appear to be in agreement. I hope he wins that fight.
