State Democrats to hear Kerrey

Former Nebraska Sen. Bob Kerrey will be the featured guest at the Morrison-Exon Day Dinner at the Hilton Omaha on June 23, the Nebraska Democratic Party announced Monday.

Kerrey was Nebraska governor from 1983-87 before serving two terms in the U.S. Senate. He now is president of the New School University in New York.

The Morrison-Exon Day Dinner also will feature Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Neb., and Democratic elected officials from throughout the state.

The Morrison-Exon Day Dinner is the party's premier fundraising event.

Individual tickets for the dinner are $100 and are available on the party's Web site (www.nebraskademocrats.org) or by calling 800-677-7068. - AP
