Neb. Reading Test Scores Disappoint

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Department of Education has given disappointing marks to Nebraska students, based on standardized tests taken last spring.

The tests showed that nearly three out of every 10 Nebraska students are below reading standards, and in Omaha Public Schools, the numbers are closer to half.

OPS officials said that while the numbers aren't what they hoped for, they should be a cause for parental concern
