Dirty Republican trick here in Passaic County, NJ.
Edited on Sat Nov-04-06 03:26 AM by AIJ Alom
George Ajjan ran against Bill Pascrell in 2004 and lost big time. Now someone is playing a dirty trick on the web in George Ajjan's favor. Someone has craftily made it so that when you try to log onto Bill Pascrell's (8th Congressional District, NJ) re-election site, Pascrell.org you go to Ajjan.com. Try it for yourself and watch as you are mysteriously redirected to a Republican site, Mr. Ajjan advertising himself, possibly for a future run for the same seat or other political office, and supporting, without any surprise Republican candidates for county freeholders.

I can see where this headed from a miles away. Mr. Ajjan wants to get his Republican friends, one of which comments on his blog(Mr. Soto), elected, so then he can have some backing when it comes time to take on Bill again or possibly a run at municipal government and there is nothing wrong with that. My issue is with the hacking of Bill's site for Ajjan's gain.

And this is really getting upsetting by the moment because I just realized that everywhere Bill goes he mentions pascrell.org so people can go and see for themselves the Democratic Party's vision for Passaic County and instead they are re-directed to this guy's site.

I've corrected the problem on the DU Research page and have also emailed Pascrell regarding the matter.

1. Is it an established fact that Pascrell is using the .org as his campaign site?
Even the AFL-CIO, which has links to pro-labor candidates it's supporting in this election, in Pascrell's case links to his .gov site. I'm not in Passaic County, so I can't say I've ever tried the Pascrell.org link before today, so I don't know the situation prior to this week. Is the 8th District a close race? Could this impact the outcome?

Certainly, whatever the case, the Ajjan campaign is playing either a sneaky web trick or a dirty one. Neither is fair; one ought to be criminal.

Keep us posted.

2. Bill is not in any danger. He's going to crush Sandoval, but Bill
always makes it a point to make sure his entire ticket wins. He's been mentioning pascrell.org alot on the campaign trail to give the embattled Democratic freeholders a shot in the arm. That is why this Ajjan trick is hurtful. Property taxes have gone up in the county and Ajjan is trying to tie this entirely on the Democratic (incumbent) freeholders.

I emailed the campaign, hopefully I'll get a response. Today they were out canvassing the area.
