Howard Dean Coming to Cranford!

There is a Democracy for America meetup on Monday, October 25th at 2:30pm at Union County College in Cranford. Howard Dean is the speaker! :bounce: I am so psyched! I am taking 1/2 day off from work to be there.

1. Dean, Brozak, & Nader

Dean spoke well. He enjoys being in front of the crowd - about 250-350 people in a small space in student lounge at Union County Community College. And the crowd was there to see him, hung on every word. A lot of senior citizens, a fair amount of college kids, and young gray-heads in the middle.

Brozak is a good man. Good progressive positions on the issues. An underdog Democrat in a Conservative Republican district. Brozak is an ex-Marine, used to be a Republican,

Dean exhorted us that democracy begins with voting, but that we should run for office, or spend 3 hours a week working for a candidate we support.

This is a much more effective and radical message than Nader. Dean said we progressives have to do what the radical right did 20 / 30 years ago - take over. He didn't use the term "we progressives." Nader basically stands for whining and giving the power to the reactionaries.
