Postage for return of absentee ballots is 63 cents
On today's noon Politics Q & A Session with Columbus Dispatch's Joe Hallett

"As far as what happens to a mail-in absentee ballot with insufficient postage, Damschroder (Franklin County BOE Director)said that is up to individual post offices. They either can return them to sender or forward them to the election board. 'If we get the ballot and the post office wants the additional postage, we'll obviously pay it to make sure that voter's vote is counted,' Damschroder said."

2. Some require 87 cents?
From The Chronicle Telegram, October 20

Stamp snafu may lead to postage due

The Associated Press

HAMILTON — "A county board of elections mailed 5,250 absentee ballots that misinformed voters of the postage needed to return completed ballots for the Nov. 7 election.
The ballots, postmarked Oct. 9 and 10, included an insert that said they should be returned to the Butler County Board of Elections with a 63-cent stamp. The correct postage is 87 cents.
Some ballots were returned to absentee voters for insufficient postage.... The elections board has received more than 10,000 requests for absentee ballots, double the total of the last general election that included the governor’s race, McGary said."
