Ohio voters, bring a cell phone, if possible, when you go to vote
Edited on Sat Oct-23-04 07:59 AM by librarycard
Have your local newspaper editor's phone number in your cell phone's address book, and tell whomever is giving you problems at your polling place that you are calling your local editor.

My military group overseas has written to every single newspaper in Ohio (as well as Wisconsin and Iowa), no matter how small. When you talk to the editor, tell him/her your problem at your polling place, and invoke any connection you have to someone in the military, whether nuclear/extended family members, neighbors, friends, or newspaper articles reporting on US casualties. Discuss the urgency of your being able to vote based on your connection/concern for the troops and that you are being denied that right.

Good luck!

3. Yes, the same applies. We hit all the key papers in swing states
and then some.

I'm talking at least 300 personal letters addressed to the editor--and not "letters to the editor" mind you, but although the papers are free to print it if they'd like.

4. It would be well worth it even to RENT one of those on election day
Somebody else might be in need if not you personally.

5. Another point, even more crucial
If you feel you are being intimidated, or unfairly questioned, or overall feel like you are being denied your right to vote IN ANY WAY, speak to the poll watcher at your precinct. They will have a direct line to party attorneys and will relay your concerns ASAP.
