Former (Republican) gubernatorial candidate is exploring another run
I'm not exactly surprised. Came across this on KATU.com:

http://www.katu.com/stories/75914.html

Ron Saxton, likely throwing his hat in the ring.

1. does KATU have any Dem commentators ?
I didn't know he was doing commentary for them until this past week. (I pretty much have abandoned the corporate media for news). Also, did Lars work for them or was that with KOIN ?

3. Lars did commentary for them
Up until Saxton came on board, Lars was the only commentator, I think. Saxton was the only regular political commentator.

He was pretty vanilla-y. Middle of the road stuff, seemed to rarely take a position that was Mannix-like. He was probably keeping his name and face out there.

4. Thug primary gonna be a total replay of 2002.

Sexton and Mannix ran against each other. Mannix
won, being more conservative, and the Sexton voters
ended up voting for Governer K in the general.

Cool.

5. Well, yeah, but it was a three way split
Roberts got more votes than Saxton. If Saxton and Mannix go head to head, Saxton may just take it. That is my biggest fear. I'd like to see another entry or two on the Republican side to split the moderate vote. Mannix will certainly win the conservative vote.

7. Whose running for gov?
I occasionally get polls from Zogby in my e-mail. Well, recently one of them had names of various R & D politicians matched up for the gubernatorial primary and general election. I think the R's mentioned were Jason Atkinson & Mannix (may have been a third - I can't remember). Don't remember seeing any moderates on the R side. A moderate R who can get through the primaries would be a real threat, especially since K is apparently not much of a campaigner and is not all that popular even w/ dems.

The D's (FYI)in the hypotheticals were Gov. K, Peter Sorenson and Vicki Walker.
