I'm not sure if I mentioned it, but this weekend is the Oregon Brewer's Festival ....

One of my first activities when I came to Portland 3 years ago was, with child like amazement, a recognition of the rich brewing culture of the Northwest, and just how various, wonderful and delicious the results could be ....

I am going to go early Sunday, at opening time: there are much smaller lines then, and Sunday is the earliest I can make it this year ...

I will have my cell with me .....

Whenever you decide to go, have a GREAT time .... Gonna be a good one ....

EDIT: It is free to enter, but you must buy a mug and tokens to drink beer ....

Admission:
Free for entry to the festival. A one-time purchase 2008 souvenir mug costs $5 and is required for consuming beer. Mugs from previous years will not be filled. Tokens are required for purchase of beer. Tokens cost $1 apiece. Patrons pay four tokens for a full mug, or 1 token for a taste.

2. Waterfront Park

I volunteered yesterday from 12:00–4:30. It was so much fun, but once my shift was over, I was too tired to drink up myself. I'll probably go today and/or tomorrow at noon. My mom and I will be sneakily parking at Lloyd Center and taking MAX downtown, so PM me early if anyone wants to meet up!

6. I hated beer before I moved to Portland Oregon

Each batch is a work of art .... rich .. complex ... organic ....

The difference between a craft beer and 'Steel Reserve' is like the difference between a freshly baked loaf of Italian bread, and a stale loaf of Webers ...

There is simply no comparison ....

I rarely drink .... One beer per week, on average ....

That one beer is a good one .... out of hundreds available in Portland's rich beer culture ... There is nothing snobbish or elitist about it .... These are working men and women at these festivals ... not rich snobs ....
