3 dead candidates on Washington County’s ballot

<snip>
WASHINGTON — Voters in Washington County could vote for as many as three dead candidates in November’s general election.

They include former incumbent mayors Alfred Agamedi, of North Charleroi, and Walter Wisniewski, of Bentleyville, who were running unopposed. Agamedi was 84 when he died Sept. 18, and Wisniewski was 86 when he died Sept. 24.

County elections officials say the names can be removed if court petitions are filed, but that’s unlikely because the election is Nov. 3.

The third dead candidate is Robert Staley Jr., 42, a councilman in Coal Center Borough. His father is council president and wanted his son’s name to remain on the ballot as a tribute.

It would be curious to see if any of them win.
