Bucchianeri Going Strong on Third Week of Tour in PA 12th

MONONGAHELA – Three weeks ago, Democratic candidate for the 12th congressional district Ryan Bucchianeri set out on his “Shoe Leather and Socnets” tour. The Monongahela native is racking-up some fairly impressive numbers in his efforts to reach out and listen to the needs of voters before the May 18th primary election.

So far, Bucchianeri has made 65 stops, traveling over 2,350 miles in his 1990 Buick Reatta. Closing out this week, those stops included Monessen, Johnstown, Apollo, Vandergrift, Latrobe, Derry, New Alexandria, Mt. Pleasant and West Newton.

“From town-to-town and from person-to-person, no matter what their most important issue is, there is one thing that is consistent throughout: they are tired of politicians not listening to them anymore,” said Bucchianeri. “Through my training as an officer in the Navy, we were taught to lead by example and that is why I am walking through so many towns and talking with so many people. Because in order to give Western Pennsylvanians a voice in Washington, you must first lend them your ear here at home. And that is exactly the kind of Congressman I am going to be.”

During Bucchianeri’s travels, he chronicles his conversations and the images he witnesses on his Facebook and Twitter social networking pages as a way to share the stories of those he meets.

Ryan Bucchianeri is a U.S. Naval Academy and Harvard Kennedy School graduate, a former officer in the U.S. Navy with two tours of service in the Middle East and an international business developer from Monongahela.
