2. What's a Judge of Elections (that could be me!) to do?
Edited on Thu Mar-24-11 07:28 PM by Divernan
The link suggests that should this bill pass, voters in every county should sue their Judge of Elections over a demand for photo ID. Speaking as a Judge of Elections, I'd issue a Provisional Ballot to every voter who couldn't produce the photo ID. And the way the current law reads, any voter who is challenged re identification has the right to demand a provisional ballot. But knowing the GOP need to disenfranchise US citizens, they'll probably change that part of the law too. These Republican politicians in Harrisburg seem addicted to acting like total assholes. They need a 10 step program titled Assholes Anonymous. As the article notes, there have been no reported, let alone documented problems with voter fraud, and there is no need for this legislation.

"A solution, assuming the bill passes in a GOP controlled state legislature, is a mass legal challenge. Democrats in every precinct throughout the Commonwealth should challenge being asked for their "papers" at the next election and at least one in every precinct should then sue their local Judge of Elections and County Election Services. Imagine how many lawsuits can be filed across Pennsylvania? It would bankrupt these officials and counties having to defend every one, especially since legal precedent is strong and they'd have no chance of winning in court."
