David Van Os to run for Texas Attorney General!
Being close to the consumer side of stuff, this just makes me grin ear to ear and then some!!!!

p.s. Did you know that the Texas AG will not act on a consumer complaint filed with the AGs office? They used to send the complaint to the company, but due to budget cuts, they just file the complaint and do nothing. Reminds me of a joke:

A doctor saw a patient for hemorrhoids and prescribed suppositories. A few weeks later he saw his patient and asked him “How did the medicine worked for you?” The patient replied “Well doc, the good those pills did me, I might as well have stuck them up my ass!”

The good our current Attorney General does for consumers....

1. Great for David
I love the way he just keeps on fighting. He's got a big heart.

The joke was too funny, John.

6. I say otherwise.
He may get rather (ahem) exuberant at times, but I love it. He gets people fired up.

9. In 2002/2003, Myself And Others Tried To Organize The Progressive
Populists Caucus in Dallas, TX.

We entered into this effort with the best of intentions.

The head of the state organization was Van Os.

We learned that the real goal of the state organization was to oust Molly Beth Malcolm from her role as the state chair of the Democratic Party.

We were pissed with the subterfuge and tactics employed by the leadership of the Progressive Populists Caucus and initiated several efforts to clarify our charter.

This angered Van Os and others to no end and they drafted an Oath of Fealty that all members of the Progressive populist Caucus were supposed to sign.

In essence, if you did not agree with Van Os's agenda to oust Molly Beth then you could not be part of the Populist Caucus.

Myself and others refused to sign the oath and were summarily asked to leave the group.

This left a permanent bad memory with me regrading Van Os and others.

Democracy is not about Hitler like tactics. Many Republicans would have been proud of their methods and we told them as much.

Much acrimony all around.
