They are pushing this very hard. I have received a number of very slick direct mail items from them. They must be spending a fortune on this campaign. Where is all of the money coming from and whom does this server?

Five major donors are funding Dallas lawyer Beth Ann Blackwood's $180,000 campaign to strengthen mayoral power ? including a Texas oilman, a retired newspaper editor, a billionaire and two real estate developers.
In an interview Monday, Ms. Blackwood said former Dallas Times Herald managing editor Will Jarrett, real estate executive Vance Miller and Dallas financier Harold Simmons each have contributed $36,000 to the campaign. On the bright side, Dallas News says there's high early voter turnout in South Dallas which may indicate a NO vote. Here's hoping that they're right for once.

4. I hope for heaven's sake that this proposition does not get voted in.

I don't hear people buzzing on about this around town, except for the ones, like myself, who are regular voters.

Supposedly there's an alternative version coming out in the fall to vote on. I got a Ron Kirk flyer on this. That flyer was good, but a friend of mine said she didn't get one. So I don't know who they were mailed to.

The "pro" proposition faction has gotten their message out much more loudly, though. That's always a bad sign.
