and always has been, contrary to what the Gammage supporters keep repeating. We're going to see multiple attacks on Bell -- but only from Gammage's online crew -- over the next few weeks. These are beginning to take shape already, in the vein of 'who's more progressive', or more libelously, 'Bell is a closet Republican'.
Consider the source, and take these epithets with a pound of salt.
Everyone knows that DVO is my kind of Democrat, and the same is true of Chris Bell (and Borris Miles as well, on whom the same mud is being slung). David even spoke for Barbara Radnofsky yesterday at the Tejano Democrats screening convention (note the thread here that has questioned her liberal bonafides).
I've had the same conversations online and off with supporters of both Democrats challenging Cabana Boy Culberson in CD-07, and the contentions about both Jim Henley and David Murff are exactly the same.
The bottom line, of course, is everybody is entitled to make up their own mind about whom to support. That's politics, and that's why Lloyd Bentsen called it a contact sport. Once more:
-- attack the issues, not the individual (in this vein, the candidates themselves are fair game to an extraordinarily lengthy degree)
-- if you can't point out the differences between candidates without attacking the person asking the questions, then the heat in the kitchen is quite obviously too much for you, and you should excuse yourself.
Keep in mind we're all going to need to kiss and hug and make up on March 8.
